Frequently Asked Questions

How do I register?

Thank you for your interest in signing up with Valley Stars Basketball Academy! You will need to complete the registration form located on the For Players tab of the menu. You will then receive an email detailing next steps. All new players are invited to attend a free week of training sessions which must be coordinated with Head Coach, Kiki. It will be upon the discretion of Coach Kiki to identify the best age group and skill level for your player on the corresponding training session day.  Please note that your free week of training must be taken within 7 days of starting. Following your free week of training sessions, should your player be a good mutual match for our team, you will be provided our weekly training session schedule, link to officially register your player, and a payment form that must be completed within 48 hours of starting.

When and where are practices held?

Training sessions are held Monday-Thursday evenings from 6-9 pm in the San Fernando Valley. Our practices our in groups from 6 pm to 7:30 pm and 7:30 pm to 9 pm. You will be assigned a time. Location details will be shared upon completing the interest form.

Where are games located?

Games are located in the San Fernando Valley on Saturdays and Sundays. Location details will be shared upon completing the interest form. Click Here ​

How old does my child need to be to play?

We welcome players as young as 7 years old through high school!

My child plays high school basketball and/or other sports– can they still play?

Yes, your child is welcomed to participate in our training sessions and/or games so long as their availability aligns with our schedule.

Are there any additional costs aside from the membership rate?

Yes, there are additional costs including uniforms, team backpack, and entrance fees to games. Additionally, we attend several travel tournaments throughout the year. While this is not required, we encourage all our players to participate.

My child would like to participate, but can only attend weekday training sessions. Is there a membership rate for that?

Yes, we do have a membership level for players who can only attend weeknight training sessions. Please complete the intake form to find out more. Let the writing speak for itself. Keep a consistent tone and voice throughout the website to stay true to the brand image and give visitors a taste of the company’s values and personality.

What is your refund policy?

As a nonprofit, we work to deliver the best value among basketball leagues across the San Fernando Valley. In order to cover the costs involved in our gym rentals, insurance, and staffing, we do not offer refunds, credits, or makeup days. By subscribing to one of our memberships, you will be enrolled in monthly recurring payments starting the first of every month. Surcharges may apply depending on your card. If you would like to change or cancel your membership, we require a notice of at least 2 weeks in advance of your next monthly membership charge. Please notify Coach Kiki or info@myvalleystars.com.

How can parents get involved?

There are many wonderful ways to get involved with Valley Stars and we encourage everyone to support us! We are always looking for our community members to support us at games by working the welcome and concession stand as well as managing our scoreboard. Do you offer any membership scholarships?

At Valley Stars, we believe everyone is a star and as a nonprofit, we work to deliver the best value among basketball leagues across the San Fernando Valley. We offer subsidized membership plans for those looking for financial assistance. You can complete this form and submit the required paperwork. Your application will be reviewed and you may be eligible for a subsidized membership rate. Only complete applications will be considered.
